AR Safety Goggles for Ski

SKI PILot

Description

Design AR ski goggles for Safety

Skiing accidents are inevitable and happen every day. Although the ski resort has professional ski patrol and insurance. But the division of responsibilities has always been a problem.

  • Cameras and lenses could help skiers increase visibility.

  • Lidar helps skiers expand their field of vision, including behind them and in blind spots.

  • Turn Signals help the uphill person know where is the downhill skier going.

  • GPS/ Emergency call is earlier for safety rescue

Skiing Accidents Statistics

For an average 120-day season

  • About 600,000 people are injured while skiing or snowboarding annually.

  • 38 skiing fatalities occurred during the 2019/2020 season in the United States.

  • Roughly 200 skiing-related injuries per 100,000 visits occur each year in European Alps resorts

So the downhill person always has right of way.”

“I would say the biggest thing is just not being aware not looking around. That's why people collide into.”

”If knowing if someone's coming up behind me, they're in my blind spot, and I can't see so I could see that being very useful.“

”if you are getting notifications, making sure it doesn't go right in the field of vision, maybe off to the side off to the side ever so slightly.“

While this utility model presents a display-enabled ski goggle for safety awareness, SkiPilot expands this by integrating LiDAR terrain sensing, blind-spot detection, and companion app navigation tailored to different skier personas.

Benchmark Patent Research

“Claims an AR-enabled ski goggle that displays real-time environment and body status info via optical lens.”

How Skipilot Works - App

Start a new run manually from the homepage or from the navbar Your goggles will also automatically record runs for you, but may not sync until you open your app again

image.png
image.png

Syncs with your goggles to provide run stats over time, as well as safety stats Can sync with other apps such as Strava to keep track of your previous data

image.png

When connecting a new pair of goggles, access goggle set-up from nav bar or through set-up notification Follow instructions to sync goggles and set-up in-goggle view After set-up, goggle battery and maintenance needs show. Adjust settings anytime
